Our Jungle Wild trip takes you to the dense evergreen forests of East Arunachal; one of the last unexplored frontiers on the tourist map. We set out to uncover the fascinating world of little know tribes, residing in stunning landscapes characterised by dense forests, spectacular snow capped mountains, and gushing rivers.

The Jungle Wild adventure commences in Roing – the gateway to Dibang valley. This valley drained by the Dibang river, a major tributary of Brahmaputra, is a biodiversity hotspot with 6000 plant species, 100 mammal species and about 700 bird species found over here. From Roing we traverse through the flood plains of the Lohit river , another major tributary of the Brahmaputra. Over here we trek up the dense evergreen forests of Kamlang Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 2: Trek from Eshi Pani to Elopa
In the morning drive for around two hours on the Nizamghat road to Eshi Pani. From here we commence our climb through the community forests of Elopa village. For the initial part we will walk on the river bed of Dibang river , after which the route begins to ascend through thick evergreen forests. For most part, the trail is overgrown with bushes as few people go up that way. It will take us a little more than 5 hours to reach the top. O/n in tents

Day 3: Elopa to Dibang river
Take some time to learn about the flora of the place, alongside the medicinal value of local plants. Being an animist community ,the Idu Mishmi people have a strong bond with nature, about which we will learn during our descent down to Dibang river. O/n in tents

Day 4: Dibang river to Wakro

Day 5: Wakro to Glow Lake
Today we commence our trek to Glow lake, situated in Kamlang WLS. Covering a distance of 786 sq. kilometres , this little know sanctuary adjoins Namdapha National Park. Being a remote area not much research has been done on this park , but it is home to around 150 different species of trees, over 160 species of birds and 60 mammals including the big four cats.

A thirty minute drive from Wakro will get us to the start point of our trek. The initial 45 minutes of the walk skirts along the Kamlnag river , mainly through moist deciduous forests. On crossing the Kamlang river over a long suspension bridge, we will begin our steady climb up towards Glow lake. The five hour climb , though tiring would be very rewarding as you walk through bamboo forests, which slowly give way to tropical evergreen forests, with vistas of dense green mountain slopes all around. Along the way there is a good chance of seeing Hoolock Gibbons along side many species of birds. O/n in basic cottages
