Day 1 : Dimapur to Pfutsero 130 kms; 5 hours
Pickup from Dimapur airport and drive to Pfutsero, the highest town in Nagaland.
Day 2 : Zapami excursion
Today head out to Zapami village of the Chakhesang tribe. Walk around the village, visiting old houses where we interact with the community to understand the culture of the people. Later we will go to their picturesque paddy fields to get our hands dirty , while learning about their agricultural practices. In the evening we go to Glory peak to enjoy a majestic sunset.
Day 3: Pfutsero to Kapamodzu
After breakfast drive to Zhavame village from where we will do an enjoyable hike to Kapamodzu peak . Relax and enjoy the surroundings for the remainder of the day.
Day 4 : Kapamodzu to Jakhama
Today we will explore Zhavame village, visiting the old houses to hear stories from village elders. After a local lunch we head to Jakhama village. In the evening stroll around the picturesque paddy fields of Jakhama.
Day 5 : Jakhama to Dzuleke
In the morning visit the World War II cemetery, built to commemorate all those who died in the epic 1944 Battle of Kohima. Enjoy good views of the city from here. Continue our drive further to the quaint village of Dzuleke, an idyllic village set in the midst of thick sub-temperate forests.
Day 6: Dzuleke
Today we absorb the sights and sounds of nature around Dzuleke. Set out for a half day nature walk through the the fields and forests around the village. If time permits we will visit the sheep farm in Poliva.
Day 7: Dzuleke to Kohima
After breakfast drive down to Khonoma , the first green village of India. Walking around this village will give us immense insights into the history and culture of the Angami tribe. In the second half free time to explore Kohima city.
Day 8 : Kohima to Dimapur
Drop to Dimapur airport
Cost per person: Rs.42,000/- + 5% GST
